Talinis.  Dauin also serves as a great place to stay for people looking to explore Zamboginta and Siaton in the south since you won't have to deal with the traffic found when exiting the City of Dumaguete.

Dauin & Apo Island Diving

Apo Island is internationally recognized as one of the top dive spots in the world and is a true success story when it comes to conservation of this delicate eco-system.  There are a number of dive shops in the area and companies in Dumaguete that will arrange for trip offering dives for beginners or experienced divers.  PADI certification courses can also be had at a number of the dive resorts in the area if you have never strapped on a set of tanks.  Siquijour and Apo Island dives will cost you anywhere between 3,500-6,000 pesos depending on the number of dives.  Diving off the coast of Dauin can be had for as little as 1,500 PHP.  Apo Island snorkeling trips organized through one of the resorts cost 1,500 – 2,000 pesos but if you are adventurous or traveling with a large group it may be a better idea to head down to Zamboginta pier where you can rent a boat for a few thousand pesos.

There is an array of accommodation options in Dauin from budget-friendly to upscale luxury in the area.  The hotels listed here on this page are off the beach but offer close proximity to the coastline and diving opportunities and in most cases will help keep a few extra pesos in your pocket.  Before you choose be sure to take a look at our Dumaguete & Dauin Dive Resorts section if you looking for a place to stay on the beach.
